Marcelo Calderón (born 1979) is an Ikerbasque Research Professor at the Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering (Polymat), directing the Responsive Polymers for Therapeutics group since 2019. Previously, he held roles as an adjunct professor (2013) and group leader at the Free University of Berlin (2007–2019) after completing his PhD in Chemistry at the National University of Córdoba (Argentina). His research focuses on developing biocompatible, nontoxic supramolecular bioadhesives with anti-aging, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties for tissue repair, validated through ex vivo human models and industrial collaboration.
