Marcelo Arbex

Marcelo Arbex is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Windsor. He serves as the graduate director and has contributed to expanding the department’s global reach through its growing international student population. His research focuses on public economics, tax policy, labor markets, and the informal economy, with notable studies on tax evasion, pandemic economic impacts, and environmental policy.

Arbex has collaborated with institutions like Assumption University to analyze socio-economic factors influencing career choices, such as men entering priesthood. His work often bridges theoretical frameworks with policy-relevant analysis, including the economic costs of drownings in the Great Lakes region and Brazil’s Bolsa Família program.
