Prof. Marcello Ciaccio is a Full Professor in Biomedicine, Neuroscience, and Advanced Diagnostics at the University of Palermo's School of Medicine and Surgery. He leads the Clinical Biochemistry Section, focusing on biomarker discovery and diagnostic innovation. His research integrates clinical biochemistry with immunology, genetics, and neurology, emphasizing sepsis diagnostics, cardiovascular risk stratification, and neurodegenerative disorders.
