Dr. Marcela Ramírez-Pasillas serves as Academic Director and Associate Professor at the Institute of Enterprising Families for Mexico and Latin America (IFEM) of Tecnologico de Monterrey. Her key affiliations include:
- Centre of Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO) at Jönköping International Business School (full-time member since 2011)
- Media Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC) at JIBS
- Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (MISUM) at Stockholm School of Economics (since 2022)
- Advisory board member of Re:Match (social enterprise promoting circular economy)
Her research examines how next-generation members, business families, and migrants foster entrepreneurial spirit to shape sustainable, regenerative, and inclusive societies. She investigates socially, ecologically, and economically anchored entrepreneurial phenomena using Entrepreneurship as Practice (EaP), Environmental Science, and Sociology frameworks. Her qualitative methodology focuses on family-organization connections to (re)connect with nature and society through regenerative practices.
Scientific recognition includes:

- 2017 Excellence in Advanced Sharing Information Practices on Progress reporting by Global UN PRME
As an educator, she launched JIBS's Bachelor’s Programme in Sustainable Enterprise Development in 2016 and served as Co-Chair/Mentor for EURAM's Doctoral Colloquium (2013-2016). Her leadership extends to global roles including Chairman of the STEP European Leadership Council and Global Board Member of Babson College's STEP Project. She emphasizes education as pivotal for advancing business family practices through long-term orientation frameworks.
Her institutional engagement spans CeFEO's ongoing research initiatives, MISUM's sustainable market development, and Re:Match's circular economy implementation in Swedish regional contexts.
