Marcel Koschek

Marcel Koschek is a researcher at the Department of Eastern European History at the University of Bonn since April 2022. He is pursuing his PhD through a cotutelle program with the University of St Andrews (Modern History) and the University of Bonn (Eastern European History). His work focuses on transnational networks in the early Esperanto movement.

Koschek's research investigates the role of Polish and Central European actors in the Esperanto movement (c.1880s-1920s), analyzing how local groups engaged with national and global networks. His methods incorporate digital humanities tools for mapping and network visualization.

His publications highlight interdisciplinary intersections between transnational history, language studies, and social networks. Recent works include studies on Esperanto physician networks and analyses of multilingual environments in historical contexts.
