Marcel Kahan is the George T. Lowy Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, where he has been a faculty member since at least 1997. He concurrently serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Law and Business at NYU School of Law and has held visiting professorships at Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, and the Hebrew University.
Research Focus: Professor Kahan's scholarship centers on the intersection of law and finance, with particular emphasis on corporate governance, hedge funds, mergers and acquisitions, and bondholder rights. His work explores how legal frameworks shape corporate behavior and financial markets, examining issues from shareholder activism to debt renegotiation.
