Marceau Coupechoux is a Professor at Télécom Paris and a Lecturing Professor at École polytechnique, affiliated with the RMS research team and the LTCI laboratory under the Informatique et Réseaux (Infres) department. His expertise spans cellular networks, wireless systems, and network optimization, with a focus on resource management, energy efficiency, and environmental impacts of 5G/6G technologies.
Education: Master’s degrees from Télécom Paris (1999) and Universität Stuttgart (2000), PhD from Institut Eurecom (2004), and HDR from Sorbonne University (2015).
Research interests include 5G/6G networks, IoT, cognitive networks, and sustainability. He has held roles at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, served as a Visiting Scientist at the Indian Institute of Science (2011–2012), and co-chaired WiOpt 2017 and Gamenets 2019.
Recent work emphasizes energy consumption analysis of cellular networks, reinforcement learning in network optimization, and sobriety policies for ICT sustainability. His award-winning research includes estimating operational power consumption of cellular base stations in France, highlighted at ICT4S 2023.
