Prof. Dr. Marc Ziegele is a Professor of Communication and Media Studies at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (since 2024) and heads the junior research group 'Deliberative Discussions in the Social Web.' Previously, he held a junior professorship in Political Online Communication (2018–2024). His research focuses on political participation, online discourse quality, media trust, and the psychological impact of digital media. He leads projects like INDIV (innovative discursive integration) and HYVES (hybrid trust in voice assistants), funded by national and international grants. Awards include the 2023 Article of the Year Award and multiple best paper recognitions. Ziegele's work bridges communication science and psychology, addressing societal challenges like hate speech moderation and AI ethics. He is active in academic organizations such as the ICA and DGPuK.
