Marc Vander Linden

Dr. Marc Vander Linden is an Associate Professor and Faculty Lead for Internationalisation at Bournemouth University, affiliated with the Institute for the Modelling of Socio-Environmental Transitions (IMSET). His research focuses on Holocene Europe, particularly population prehistory, human-environment interactions, and archaeological modelling. He has conducted fieldwork in Belgium, Syria, the UK, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro, emphasizing long-term socio-environmental transitions.

His work contributes to UN SDG 13 (Climate Action), exploring anthropogenic impacts and ecosystem dynamics. Key projects include the p3k14c radiocarbon database and transdisciplinary approaches to sustainability. He has secured grants such as the 'Rewriting Early Bronze Age chronology' (Fritz Thyssen Stiftung) and 'Transmission of Innovations: farming practices in Europe' (ERC).
