Marc Teicholz is a Lecturer in Classical Guitar and Director of the Guitar Ensemble at California State University, East Bay (Department of Music). He concurrently teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and summer programs like the California Summer Arts Festival. Holding degrees from Yale School of Music (B.M., M.M.) and a J.D. from UC Berkeley Boalt School of Law, his career blends performance, education, and legal expertise.
Teicholz specializes in classical guitar performance with a focus on historical instruments and period authenticity. His research includes collaborations with composers like Andrew Imbrie and Dusan Bogdanovic to expand the contemporary guitar repertoire. He has premiered works such as Clarice Assad’s O Saci-Pererê and recorded for labels like Naxos, Guitar Salon International, and Delos.
