Marc S. Schwartz, MD, is a Professor of Neurological Surgery and Co-director of the Acoustic Neuroma Program at UC San Diego Health. He is internationally recognized for expertise in acoustic neuromas, skull base tumors, neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2), and auditory brainstem implants. His research focuses on tumor biology, genetics, and clinical decision-making psychology. He has authored numerous publications and is a frequent speaker at global conferences.
Dr. Schwartz’s professional history includes roles as Senior Neurosurgeon at the House Ear Clinic (Los Angeles) and Director of Skull Base Surgery at Albany Medical College. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Harvard Medical School and a fellowship in skull base surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.
He serves on editorial boards, including Skull Base: Operative Videos, and holds leadership roles in professional societies such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. His clinical expertise spans complex cranial surgery, meningiomas, pituitary tumors, and intradural spine tumors.
