Marc Kamionkowski

Marc Kamionkowski is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University within the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. He is a leading theorist at the intersection of particle physics, cosmology, and astrophysics whose work has fundamentally shaped modern cosmological research.

His primary research areas include Particle Physics, Cosmology, Astrophysics, Dark Matter, and Precision Cosmology. Kamionkowski pioneered precision cosmology by demonstrating how cosmic microwave background anisotropies encode fundamental physics of the early Universe. His seminal contributions to dark matter physics established critical frameworks for detection and interpretation.
