Marc Hoyois is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Regensburg and principal investigator of the SFB Higher Invariants. He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University (2014) under Paul Goerss and previously held positions at MIT and USC.
His research develops foundational frameworks in motivic homotopy theory, algebraic cobordism, and higher category theory. He established key results in six-operations formalism for equivariant motivic homotopy theory and contributed to the solution of the Bloch-Kato conjecture through chromatic motivic approaches.
Professor Hoyois received the K-Theory Prize in 2018 for advances in motivic categories and leads research on derived algebraic cobordism and homotopy-theoretic invariants.
