Marc Diener is a Professor in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Long Island University—Post, within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. from Adelphi University’s Derner Institute and completed clinical training at Columbia University-affiliated hospitals.
His research spans psychodynamic therapy, attachment, psychotherapy process and outcome, personality assessment (especially Rorschach and SWAP-200), and meta-analysis. He has published extensively on the role of therapeutic alliance, attachment, and affect-focused interventions in treatment success.
His recent publications show a strong trend in meta-analytic reviews evaluating the efficacy of psychodynamic techniques, the validity of assessment tools, and predictors of treatment response across disorders. These works reflect a commitment to empirical rigor in psychodynamic science.
