Marc Brecht

Prof. Dr. Marc Brecht is a faculty member at the University of Tübingen, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and the Department of Chemistry under the Institute of Physical Chemistry. His research focuses on biophysics, bio-nano physics, and method development for low-temperature single-molecule spectroscopy.

• Biophysics: Investigates protein dynamics in photosynthetic systems like Photosystem I and II.

Scientific contributions include a patent for a rapid low-temperature sample exchange system, addressing technical limitations in cryogenic spectroscopy.

The Brecht Group collaborates with AK Meixner and AK Kern at the University of Tübingen to develop hybrid systems combining light-harvesting proteins with nanostructures for biological solar cells.
