Marc A. Rieffel
استاد · Non-commutative harmonic analysis
University of California, Berkeleyمعرفی
Marc A. Rieffel is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of California, Berkeley. He is a Senate Faculty member with research interests in Non-commutative harmonic analysis, Operator algebras, and Quantum geometry.
Research and Publications: His work focuses on C*-algebras, noncommutative geometry, and quantum metric spaces. Recent publications (2004-2008) explore equivariant vector bundles, Lipschitz extensions, hyperbolic group C*-algebras, and proper actions on operator algebras. These articles highlight his contributions to abstracting geometric and topological concepts through operator-theoretic frameworks.
Teaching: Professor Rieffel teaches courses such as
- Math 142: Elementary Algebraic Topology (Fall 2025)
- Math 202B: Introduction to Topology and Analysis II (Spring 2025)
Advising: He has supervised numerous PhD students in areas related to noncommutative geometry, quantum groups, and operator algebras, including Chao Kusollerschariya (2019), Andre Kornell (2015), and Frederic Latremoliere (2004).
