Mara Krechevsky is a Senior Researcher and Research Director at Project Zero, Harvard University. Her work focuses on pedagogy, playful learning, and civic education, with significant contributions to early childhood and K-12 frameworks. She collaborates globally, including with the Lego Foundation, the International School of Billund, and institutions in Brazil, Peru, and Italy.
Key projects include Pedagogy of Play (Lego Foundation partnership), Children Are Citizens, and Making Learning Visible, which explores documentation of individual and group learning. She has directed projects like 21st Century Excellence (Brazil) and Project Spectrum (multiple intelligences theory in early childhood).
Her research emphasizes inquiry-driven teaching, global competence, and fostering creativity in classrooms. Over 40 years, she has authored/co-authored influential books and articles, including A Pedagogy of Play (2023) and Visible Learners (2013).
