معرفی
María Inés Roldán Borassi is a full-time Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Girona, specializing in Genetics. Her research focuses on genetic diversity in marine species of economic importance, sustainable exploitation models, and conservation strategies, particularly for deep-sea shrimp species like Aristeus antennatus and Aristaeomorpha foliacea. She leads multiple national R&D projects and is affiliated with the Genetic Ichthyology Research Group (LEAR).
- PhD in Biology (1995), University of Girona
- BSc in Biological Sciences (1984), Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Argentina
Her work spans population genetics, phylogenetics, and ecosystem-based fisheries management. Early research described geographic genetic diversity patterns in species such as hake, tuna, and squid, aiding in defining population units for sustainable fishing. Recent studies emphasize genetic connectivity and demographic contributions to local populations.
She has received evaluations recognizing her research (5 tramos) and teaching (6 tramos) excellence. Contact: Office LEAR-114, Building Ciències, University of Girona.
