Manuel Sintubin is a full professor at the Faculty of Sciences, KU Leuven, specializing in Continental Geodynamics, Tectonics, Seismotectonics, and Earthquake Archaeology. He actively contributes to science communication through his blog EarthlyMatters and public lectures.
His research interests focus on:
- Structural analysis of earthquake effects in ancient sites
- Geological stress state modeling through mineral deformation
- Fluid-rock interactions in tectonic settings
- Interdisciplinary approaches to seismic hazard assessment
His recent publications emphasize tectonic-controlled mineralization, paleostress indicators in quartz veins, and seismotectonic modeling. He serves as Programme Director of the POC Geosciences and is affiliated with the KIEM – KU Leuven Institute for Energy and Society.
