Dr. Manuel Fischer is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Bern and Group Leader/Head of the Policy Analysis and Environmental Governance (PEGO) Group at Eawag, part of the Swiss ETH Domain. He specializes in governance systems, decision-making processes, and political networks in environmental and water policy contexts. His work bridges academic research with practical applications in sustainable development, particularly in Switzerland and international settings.
Education:
- 2007–2011: PhD and Research Assistant, Department of Political Science, University of Geneva, Switzerland & University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.
- 2012–2013: Postdoctoral Researcher, Eawag.
- 2013–2017: Lecturer, Institute of Political Science, University of Bern.
Research Interests: Fischer focuses on governance structures, policy networks, and decision-making in environmental contexts. His work emphasizes water governance, climate resilience, and transdisciplinary approaches to sustainability challenges.
