Manuel Bagues is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on Labor Economics, Political Economy, Gender Economics, and the determinants of voting behavior. He has published in top journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, and Review of Economic Studies. His work explores topics including gender quotas, electoral behavior, academic promotions, and the impact of feedback in education.
Bagues has also contributed to popular writing on topics ranging from gender equality in academia to the statistical analysis of public examinations. He is currently on academic leave until September 2025. His teaching includes courses like EC902 (Quantitative Methods) and EC9C5 (Labor Economics) at the University of Warwick, as well as guest lectures at Universidad Carlos III.
