Manon Saeys is a Researcher at the Consultation Center Brain, Body and Cognition within the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Brussels University. She holds a PhD in Psychology and focuses on the cognitive and neural correlates of inhibitory control, particularly in the context of (sub)clinical disordered eating. Her work integrates neuromodulation techniques like transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) with behavioral studies to understand mechanisms of self-control and learning.
Research Interests:
- Neuroplasticity and neuromodulation in clinical populations
- Cognitive neuroscience of eating disorders
- Motor cortex stimulation and learning
Her recent articles explore non-invasive brain stimulation effects on inhibitory control and temperament-based personality typologies in psychiatric patients. She received the Best Presentation Award (2022) for her work on inhibitory control in eating disorders.
Dr. Saeys contributed to research proposals including FWO Senior research projects and the Léon & Miriam Velge Fund. She actively participates in conferences like the BAPS annual meeting and collaborates on datasets analyzing large psychiatric patient cohorts.
She is affiliated with the Consultation Center Brain, Body and Cognition, focusing on translational research between cognitive neuroscience and clinical applications.
