Manon Louviot is a Research Fellow in the Department of Musicology at the University of Oslo (UiO), affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities. Her work bridges academic research, artistic collaboration, and public dialogue, with a focus on medieval and Renaissance music history. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University (2019) on monastic reform and sound memories, and has held postdoctoral positions at KU Leuven and UiO. She also lectures at institutions like the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse in Paris.
Education: B.Mus. (Université de Bourgogne, 2013), Research Master in Medieval History (Université de Tours, Erasmus at Universität Regensburg, 2016). Her research explores monastic liturgy, polyphonic composition, and medieval devotional practices. She has published in leading journals like Early Music and Royal Musical Association Research Chronicle, analyzing manuscripts like the Douai fragment and devotional music of the Devotio moderna movement.
Her awards include the Best Poster Prize at the HERA Early Career Researcher Event (2018). She has organized conferences and contributed to ERC-funded projects like 'Sound Memories'. Her current work examines liturgical uniformity in monastic reforms and the intersection of music with medieval spirituality.
Publications span monographs, peer-reviewed articles, and reviews, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to music's role in medieval communities and its textual/performative dimensions.
