Manlio Fusciello is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Division of Pharmaceutical Biosciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Helsinki. He serves as Supervisor for the Doctoral Programme in Drug Research and is affiliated with the ImmunoViroTherapy Lab. His research focuses on developing innovative cancer immunotherapies and oncolytic viral platforms for personalized medicine applications.
Dr. Fusciello's research spans cancer immunotherapy, oncolytic virotherapy, and vaccine development with particular emphasis on adenoviral vector engineering and personalized approaches. His work investigates how viral vectors can be optimized to deliver therapeutic agents and stimulate robust immune responses against various cancers, with significant focus on combination therapies that integrate viral treatments with epigenetic modulators and checkpoint inhibitors.
His recent publication record (2022-2025) demonstrates increasing sophistication in vaccine platform development, with particular attention to delivery systems like microneedle patches, immune receptor engagement mechanisms, and personalized approaches based on tumor antigen profiles. His research bridges fundamental virology with practical therapeutic applications, showing strong translational potential.
