Manisha Shrestha

Manisha Shrestha is a Research Fellow at the University of Arizona's Steward Observatory, affiliated with the Department of Astronomy. She joined in Fall 2022 under Prof. David Sand's mentorship, focusing on time-domain astrophysics and gravitational wave electromagnetic counterparts. Her work includes studying gamma-ray burst magnetic fields and kilonova emission simulations.

Education: PhD in Astrophysics (2018, University of Denver). Previous postdoctoral research at the Astrophysics Research Institute in Liverpool involved optical observations of gamma-ray bursts and kilonova modeling.

Research emphasizes understanding transient phenomena through observational and computational methods, particularly linking kilonova behavior to gravitational wave source physics.
