Associate Professor Manisha Pandey leads research in bacterial pathogenesis and vaccine development at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. Her pioneering work focuses on Streptococcus pyogenes vaccines and immunotherapeutics, with active progression to clinical trials.
Pandey's research examines adaptive immunity mechanisms following infection/vaccination. She developed murine models for streptococcal diseases and leads translational vaccine projects with over $7M in funding, including Leducq Foundation and NHMRC grants. She currently supervises multiple doctoral candidates including Leanne Dooley and Jamie Sarah Mills.
Her recent articles (2023-2025) demonstrate breakthroughs in peptide-based vaccines, interleukin immunotherapy for rheumatic complications, and SARS-CoV-2 vaccine design. Awards include the 2022 Glycomics Excellence in Research Supervision Award and 2019 Research Excellence Award.
