Professor Manfred Knebusch is a full Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Regensburg, Germany. His research focuses on real algebraic and analytic geometry, algebraic theory of quadratic forms, and supertropical algebra. He has contributed to foundational works on real closures of algebraic varieties and symmetric bilinear forms.
Key research areas include model theory applications, non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms, and Prüfer extensions in commutative algebra. His notable publications include works in Queen's Lectures and Springer Lecture Notes (Vol. 1791, 2002). He is affiliated with RAAG-Network (Real Algebraic & Analytic Geometry), MODNET (Model Theory RTN), and the K-Theory and Algebraic Groups network.
Prof. Knebusch maintains collaborations in supertropical algebra and has served as a key figure in advancing quadratic form theory. His work bridges algebraic geometry, analysis, and model theory, with applications to geometric realizations and valuation theory.
