Mamunur Rashid is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health Sciences at the University of Gävle, Sweden. With a PhD in Occupational Health Sciences (2020) and Master's in Public Health Epidemiology from Karolinska Institutet, his research examines social determinants of health, sick leave patterns, and psychosocial work factors.
Current research includes: 1) aBREAK4you project (2025-2026) evaluating psychoeducational interventions for student wellbeing; 2) FlexA and MSP study (2024-2025) on flexible work arrangements and musculoskeletal pain; and 3) Population health studies on child nutrition, maternal health, and health behaviors in South Asia. His publications demonstrate expertise in epidemiological analysis of health disparities, violence impacts on health, and occupational wellbeing.
Teaching responsibilities cover undergraduate and advanced courses in public health epidemiology, health psychology, occupational health, and research methods. He serves as editor for Frontiers in Public Health's Occupational Health and Safety section.
