Mamoun Alhamadsheh is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of the Pacific’s Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He holds a BS in Pharmacy from Jordan University of Science and Technology (1999), a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Toledo (2004), and completed postdoctoral research in chemical biology at Stanford University. His research focuses on transthyretin amyloidosis therapies and drug delivery systems. He co-founded Eidos Therapeutics and discovered Acoramidis, a lead therapeutic for transthyretin cardiomyopathy. His work also addresses protein misfolding diseases and Alzheimer’s-related amyloid beta aggregation.
Teaching responsibilities include Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry (PHRM 113), Pharmacology & Medicinal Chemistry I (PHRM 135), and graduate courses like Pharmaceutical Analysis (PCSP 208). His NIH-funded research has led to multiple patents and publications. Awards include the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy New Investigator Award.
