Malte Göttsche

Malte Göttsche is a Professor for Peace Research in Natural Sciences at Technische Universität Darmstadt and Head of the Research Group Science for Nuclear Diplomacy at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF). He specializes in nuclear nonproliferation, arms control, and disarmament, with a focus on developing verification methods and technologies. As a co-speaker for the Cluster for Natural and Technical Science Arms Control Research (CNTR) and member of the Executive Board of the German Foundation for Peace Research (DSF), he bridges technical and policy-oriented research.

His work spans nuclear archaeology, antineutrino detection, and Bayesian inference for reactor history reconstruction. Publications highlight collaborations on gamma detector modeling, spent fuel monitoring, and confidence-building frameworks for disarmament. Awards include the 2022 Nuclear Free Future Award and membership in the Young Academy of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and the Arts.
