Malin Wiger is an Associate Professor at Linköping University's Department of Management and Engineering (IEI), specializing in Logistics and Quality Management (LOGQ). Her research focuses on healthcare logistics, STEM education equity, and demand/capacity management in healthcare systems. She leads the Women STEM-UP project, funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, aiming to close gender gaps in STEM education through faculty training programs. She holds a PhD in healthcare logistics and has published extensively on topics like critical thinking development in engineering education and transitioning healthcare models toward home-centered care for elderly populations.
Her recent work includes developing maturity models for healthcare capacity management, analyzing mismatches in healthcare queue reduction strategies, and designing inclusive computer science curricula. She actively contributes to Linköping University's mission to advance innovative education and groundbreaking research in management and engineering disciplines.
Professional activities include leadership in logistics education reform and collaborative projects with healthcare organizations to optimize patient flow systems. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges management theory with practical healthcare challenges and educational policy initiatives.
