Malin E Wimelius is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science at Umeå University. Her work focuses on crisis management, human trafficking, and peace studies. She has led projects exploring local experiences in combating human trafficking in Asia and contributes to the Varieties of Peace research program.
Research Interests:
- Crisis governance and volunteer mobilization during pandemics
- Russian approaches to peacekeeping and international conflict resolution
- Human rights frameworks in transnational trafficking prevention
