معرفی
Malik Marek is a distinguished academic holding dual roles as Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Imperial College London (since 2013) and part-time Professor of Cardiology at Masaryk University, Brno (since 2020). He previously served as Professor Emeritus (2020), Chairman of St. Paul’s Cardiac Electrophysiology in London (since 2006), and Professor at St. George’s University of London (1987–2013). His career spans over four decades in cardiology, electrophysiology, and biomedical engineering.
Education:
- BSc in Mathematics (1974) and MSc in Theoretical Computer Science (1974), Charles University, Prague
- MB in General Medicine (1977) and PhD in Theoretical Computer Science (1979), Charles University, Prague
- MD & Advanced Specialisation in Internal Medicine (1987), Charles University, Prague
- DSc in Mathematics (1988) and DSc (Med) in Cardiology (1999), University of London
Research Interests:
- Cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmia mechanisms
- Computerized analysis of biosignals (ECG, heart rate variability)
- Autonomic nervous system interactions in cardiovascular health
- Clinical applications of electrophysiological data for mortality prediction
Awards:
- Purkinje Society Prize (1986, 1988)
- Zworikin Prize (1992)
- Nihon University School of Medicine Prize (1997)
