Malik Hodjaev

Malik Hodjaev is the John D. Soper Senior Lecturer at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, Indiana University Bloomington. He specializes in Uzbek language pedagogy, linguistics, and developing online teaching materials. His research focuses on intensive methods for teaching Uzbek as a foreign language and multimedia instructional resources.

• Education: MA in Pedagogy from Moscow State Pedagogical University (1980)

Research Interests include modern language pedagogy, linguistics, and the application of online tools in language instruction. He has contributed to projects like the Uzbek-English Pictorial Dictionary with SamRLC and collaborated with CelCAR on digital materials.

Publications include teaching manuals such as Culture of Communication (2002) and English for the Youngest (1999). His work was recognized with the Excellence in Education National Award (1998).

Current projects involve online course development and advancing digital language resources. He teaches courses like Introductory Uzbek, Intermediate Uzbek, and Advanced Direct Language Study (ADLS).
