Malik Chaker-Margot is an Assistant Professor at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine. His research focuses on structural biology of cellular signaling mechanisms, using cryo-EM and biophysical techniques to study molecules like Rho GTPases and long non-coding RNAs. He leads the Chaker-Margot Lab, recruiting researchers for collaborative projects.
Education:
- Postdoc (2018-2022): University of Basel, Biozentrum, supervised by Timm Maier
- PhD (2013-2018): The Rockefeller University, supervised by Sebastian Klinge
- B.Sc. (2010-2013): University of Montreal, Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine (Honors Program)
Research Interests:
Investigates how proteins and RNAs encode and process cellular signals physically. Current priorities include small GTPase regulators and long non-coding RNA mechanisms. Utilizes advanced structural biology techniques like cryo-EM to visualize molecular interactions.
