استاد مدعو · Phenomenology of the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider
RWTH Aachen Universityمعرفی
Prof. Malgorzata Worek is an Adjunct Professor at RWTH Aachen University's Institute for Theoretical Particle Physics and Cosmology. Her research focuses on Standard Model phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), particularly top-quark and Higgs-boson physics. She leads multiple high-impact projects including the DFG Research Training Group (RTG 2497) and the Transregional Collaborative Research Center (TRR 257). Worek's work emphasizes precision calculations in QCD and electroweak corrections, Monte Carlo simulations, and multi-particle process modeling.
Education: She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Silesia (2003) and habilitation from RWTH Aachen (2015). Professional roles include tenured positions at RWTH Aachen since 2013 and leadership in international collaborations like ATLAS and CMS.
Research Interests: Her group studies top quark pair production, off-shell effects, photon-associated top production, and Higgs boson interactions. Key tools include the HELAC-NLO and VBFNLO Monte Carlo programs for precision event generation.
Grants & Leadership: Current funding includes BMBF projects on LHC theory support and DFG grants for training the next generation of particle physicists. She chairs international workshops on top quark physics and serves on review panels for major European research councils.
Labs/Teams: Directs a team of four Ph.D. students and collaborates with institutions globally on LHC phenomenology and computational particle physics.
