Malek Abisaab is an Associate Professor of History at the Department of History and Classical Studies, McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He specializes in Modern Middle Eastern history, focusing on social and political transformations in Islamic societies, with particular emphasis on gender, labor, and nation-state formation in Lebanon and the broader Arab world.
