Dr. Malcolm John is the Helen Morag Fellow and Tutor in Physics at Jesus College, University of Oxford. He holds a BSc and PhD in Physics from Imperial College London, followed by research appointments at the Universities of Paris VI & VII, CERN, and a Royal Society University Research Fellowship.
His research focuses on particle physics, particularly studying decay properties of heavy flavour mesons (containing b and c quarks) using data from the LHCb experiment at CERN. Teaching responsibilities include first-year calculus/wave motion tutorials, third-year relativity/subatomic physics instruction, and a fourth-year particle physics option. He also serves as a demonstrator for general physics laboratories.
- Awards: Royal Society University Research Fellowship, CERN Fellowship
- Grants: Royal Society URF-supported research
His work is affiliated with CERN's LHCb collaboration and the University of Oxford's particle physics group. Teaching materials are available via Jesus College's Physics department website.
