Dr. Maktoba Omar is Associate Head of School for Student Experience at CBL School of Management, Coventry University. She holds a PhD from the University of Leeds and is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. With over 20 years in academia, her work focuses on international business strategies in emerging markets.
Her research explores Foreign Direct Investment, international marketing strategies, and SME development in emerging economies. Recent publications analyze triadic business relationships, colonial impacts on African investment, and marketing agility frameworks.
Omar has received multiple Emerald Literati awards for research excellence. She has supervised 18 doctoral completions and secured research funding from Qatar National Research Foundation and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Currently leads the International Business and Emerging Market Research Group.
