Maksim Mamonkin, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, affiliated with the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy and the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research focuses on immunobiology of CAR T-cells and developing cell therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. He earned his PhD from Baylor College of Medicine in 2013.
Research interests include molecular mechanisms of CAR T-cell activity, targeting T-cell malignancies, and strategies to suppress graft-versus-host disease. His lab employs protein engineering and genome editing, with clinical trials (e.g., NCT03081910, NCT03690011, NCT04219163) evaluating CAR T-cells in hematologic malignancies.
