Majid Latifi

Dr. Majid Latifi is an Associate Lecturer in the AI and Data Science team at the Department of Computer Science, University of York, since April 2022. His academic career spans multiple institutions, including roles at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), and Dublin City University (DCU).

Dr. Latifi’s research focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, and Data Science, with expertise in:

• Conversational Systems (Sequence-to-Sequence Language Generation)
• Applied Machine Learning and Deep Learning
• Ontology-based Semantic Web and Linked Open Data

His work integrates theoretical advancements with practical applications, particularly in language modeling and data-driven AI systems. Prior to York, he held part-time Lecturer roles at the School of Computing, National College of Ireland (2021-2022), and Computing Science departments at Griffith College Dublin and Cork (2021-2022). He has also contributed to research institutions like IDEAI-UPC and the ADAPT Centre at Trinity College Dublin (2018-2019) and Dublin City University (2017).
