Majeed Hayat

Dr. Majeed Hayat is Professor and Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Marquette University. His research focuses on dynamical models for interdependent cyber-physical systems, signal/image processing, and performance modeling of distributed computing systems. He directs the System Analytics for Communications and Energy (SACE) Lab.

Research interests include:

• Stochastic analysis of cascading failures in power grids
• High-speed optical receiver design
• Remote vibration estimation using synthetic-aperture radar
• Optimization of cloud infrastructure

Dr. Hayat has received numerous awards including IEEE, OSA, and SPIE Fellow distinctions. His work has been supported by over $14M in research funding from NSF, DOE, and DoD agencies.

He leads projects on grid reliability modeling and optical receiver technology development, collaborating with national labs and industry partners.
