Maja Radetić

Maja Radetić is a Full Professor at the Department of Textile Engineering within the Technical Faculty of the University of Belgrade. Appointed to her current position on June 10, 2015, she has established herself as a leading researcher in textile engineering with a focus on nanotechnology applications. Her work spans multiple institutions, including a visiting professorship at Ghent University's Department of Textiles in Belgium where she researched nanoparticle applications in textile materials during 2011.

Professor Radetić's research interests center around the modification of textile surfaces using low-temperature plasma and metal/metal oxide nanoparticles, textile sorption materials, and ecological approaches in the textile industry. Her work bridges materials science, nanotechnology, and environmental concerns within textile engineering. She has published extensively in high-impact journals, with her research focusing on antimicrobial textiles, nanoparticle functionalization, and sustainable textile processing methods.

Her publication record shows a consistent trajectory of high-quality research with a strong emphasis on practical applications of nanotechnology in textiles. The most recent publications demonstrate her continued leadership in developing innovative textile materials with antimicrobial properties, environmental applications, and advanced functionalization techniques using copper and titanium dioxide nanoparticles.

She has also participated in numerous international projects including EU Framework Programme projects and EUREKA initiatives. Her mentorship extends to numerous doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students, demonstrating her commitment to developing the next generation of textile engineers and researchers. She completed specialized training at Deutsches Wollforschungsinstitut RWTH Aachen in Germany (2001) focusing on textile surface modification.
