Maja Frögård is a researcher and designer at Linnaeus University's Department of Design within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Her work focuses on participatory design methodologies addressing societal challenges, particularly sustainability and accessibility in public systems.
Her research centers on community development and collaborative meaning-making processes. Key projects include municipal-level sustainability co-design initiatives and user-centered improvements for public transport accessibility. She actively contributes to design education through curriculum planning and supervision.
Frögård is currently engaged in the Earth Logic Design research project under InKuiS (Innovative Cultural Entrepreneurship in Collaborative Co-creative Research), investigating how design can enable equitable living within planetary boundaries. Her methodological approach emphasizes survey-based mapping of design conditions and value creation.
Her academic foundation includes a PhD in Art, Technology, and Design from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in collaboration with Konstfack, complemented by an MFA and BFA in Industrial Design from Konstfack.
As part of her ongoing research with project leaders Mathilda Tham and Åsa Ståhl, she examines entrepreneurial thinking in collaborative design contexts, focusing on creativity, innovation, and new working methodologies within cultural entrepreneurship.
