Maitreyi Rathod

Dr. Maitreyi Rathod is the Head of a scientific working group at the Institute of Anatomy and Experimental Morphology, part of the Faculty of Medicine at the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). Her research focuses on cell-cell adhesion mechanisms, epidermal differentiation, and autoimmune skin diseases like pemphigus. She leads a team investigating molecular pathways regulating desmosomal structures and their clinical implications. Recent work includes identifying therapeutic targets for pemphigus and elucidating the role of DPM1/SERPINB5 in skin biology.
