Maitreyee Buragohain

Dr. Maitreyee Buragohain is a researcher and educator specializing in the intersection of dance and special education. Her PhD at the University of Northampton focused on how dance fosters personal development and inclusion for children experiencing complex needs. With experience in India and England, she has worked as a Special Educational Needs teacher, teaching assistant, and dance instructor, leveraging creative movement to enhance social and communication skills. Currently, she supports pupils with special educational needs in a UK school while contributing to inclusive education practices. She collaborates with a Community Interest Company to deliver dance programs for marginalized children and regularly presents her work at international conferences.

Research Interests center on inclusive pedagogies, creative movement interventions, and community engagement for children with diverse needs. Her qualitative methodology combines video observations and interviews to analyze developmental progress and social inclusion.
