Dr. Mahmoud Wagih is a Lecturer in Implantable Electronics at the University of Glasgow's Department of Electronic & Nanoscale Engineering. He leads research on sustainable RF-enabled electronics and co-directs the UKRI Responsible Electronics and Circular Technologies (REACT) Centre. His expertise spans RF energy harvesting, wireless power transfer, and biomedical applications. He holds roles including IEEE Distinguished Microwave Lecturer and is a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng).
Education: BEng (1st Class Hons.) in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton (2018), and a PhD in Rectenna Design (2021). His research focuses on green electronics, with contributions to sustainable materials, antenna design, and RF sensing.
Awards include the RAEng Sir George MacFarlane Medal (2025), Forbes 30 Under 30 (2024), and multiple best paper awards. He has secured £16M+ in grants and founded RX WaTT Limited for wireless power and sensing solutions.
