Mahadevan Subramaniam

Mahadevan Subramaniam is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Information Science & Technology. He directs the AI Core for Collaborative Outreach, Research and Education (AI-CCORE) and the Intelligent Modeling, Simulation, and Testing (IMST) Laboratory. Subramaniam earned his PhD in Artificial Intelligence from SUNY Albany, NY, with a focus on hardware system design.

• Research Interests: Augmented Learning, AI in Science, Smart Digital Twins, 2D Living Materials, Clinical Medical Informatics, Deep Learning, and Generative Learning.
• Teaching Interests: Advanced Computer Architecture, Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Formal Methods in Software Engineering, and Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence.

His research includes self-supervised and super-resolution approaches for predictive analysis of biofilms, lipid nanomolecule morphologies in pharmacology, and quantum cryptography applications. Subramaniam collaborates with institutions like Stanford, University of Nebraska Medical Center, and international teams in Turkey and Argentina on clinical studies for retinal diseases (e.g., AMD) and uveitis. He has developed diagnostic devices/software and leads deep learning initiatives for medical applications.
