Magnus Neubert

Magnus Neubert is a doctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), specifically within the Department of Agricultural Markets, Marketing and World Agricultural Trade. He joined the department in November 2019 and has been studying Empirical Economics at the University of Greenwich and Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg.

Research Interests:
His research focuses on the economic history of Yugoslavia, particularly examining the impacts of labour-managed socialism on economic development and regional divergence. Utilizing applied econometric methods and historical analysis, he explores topics such as infrastructure development in colonial contexts (e.g., Habsburg Bosnia-Herzegovina) and state capacity building in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
