Magnus Boman is a Professor in Intelligent Software Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology since 2003. He holds a PhD from 1993 on Federated Architectures and is a Docent (habilitation) at Stockholm University. His research focuses on programming and modeling learning machines for mental health and clinical domains. He is affiliated with the Clinical Epidemiology (KEP) division at the Department of Medicine Solna, Karolinska Institutet, and leads an AI project for the President of Karolinska Institutet. He is also a Researcher at MedTechLabs, a joint initiative between KTH, Karolinska Institutet, and Region Stockholm.
He serves as an Associate Editor of Eurosurveillance journal and holds an Honorary Professorship in Psychiatry at University College London (UCL). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. His work bridges artificial intelligence with clinical applications, particularly in precision medicine and medical technology.
Boman’s professional roles include teaching Research Methodology and Scientific Writing (II2202) at KTH and participation in strategic initiatives like the Karolinska Precision Medicine Task Force. His interdisciplinary collaborations span computer science, healthcare, and epidemiology.
